Carol Hamilton | Peace Through Action USA

Carol Hamilton, of Hyattsville, Maryland, is an AmeriCorps program interventions advisor to Peace Through Action USA. Carol is responsible for completing the organization’s future AmeriCorps program‘s core theory of change. Carol will assist in the selection of a primary evidence-based or -informed intervention and set performance measures and measurement methods for the program and its primary intervention. She will strengthen a Peace Through Action youth development intervention focused on peace. And Carol will lead the design of a Peace Through Action adult development intervention focused on peace.

Carol brings to this position extensive experience facilitating multi-stakeholder processes, designing and documenting theories of change and complementary outcome evaluation plans, learning design and delivery for adults, and facilitating design thinking projects.

Carol is the principal of Grace Social Sector Consulting, LLC and the host of the Mission: Impact podcast. Previous positions include the Institute for Conservation Leadership, NAFSA: Association of International Educators, and other nonprofit organizations with education and human centered missions. Carol is an active volunteer with the Alliance for Nonprofit Management, the Chesapeake Bay Organization Development Network, the Center for Nonprofit Advancement, and the Unitarian Universalist Church of Silver Spring. Carol holds a masters in organization development from American University. Carol is a nonprofit Standards of Excellence consultant and has a certificate in design thinking from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.

Carol is motivated to advise Peace Through Action on the planning of its future AmeriCorps program because providing tangible ways for youth and adults to engage with their communities to pursue peace through caring action is an exciting opportunity. As Mr. Rogers said, “look for the helpers.”
