Amy Salinas | Peace Through Action USA

Amy Salinas, of Austin, Texas, is an AmeriCorps program compliance advisor to Peace Through Action USA. Amy is responsible for developing Peace Through Action’s future AmeriCorps program management system to a level of 1) excellence and endurance among the national network of AmeriCorps programs; 2) full compliance with AmeriCorps requirements; and 3) readiness to operate immediately upon receipt of an eventual AmeriCorps program award.

Amy brings to this position years’ of experience in program development, grant writing, data collection and evidence building, facilitation, training, coaching, and all things AmeriCorps. Amy is both an AmeriCorps consultant and managing partner of On3Learn. Previous positions include program and training officer at the Texas State Service Commission, National VISTA trainer and lead facilitator, and many positions serving youth. Amy also is a proud AmeriCorps alum, serving one term at the University of Texas at Arlington AmeriCorps program serving in the victims’ assistance department at the Arlington Police Department. Amy is an active volunteer with her son’s school, serving annually on the community advisory council and supporting programming like Math Pentathlon and more. Amy holds a Master of Social Work and Urban Affairs from the University of Texas at Arlington. Amy also holds a certification as a civic reflection trainer.

Amy is motivated to advise Peace Through Action on the planning of its future AmeriCorps program because she has a strong passion for helping organizations consider how AmeriCorps can support their missions and make important change in communities and people. Amy is very driven by her belief that people from varied backgrounds working together in a culture of learning, growth, and dialogue can have a great impact on one another and our future.
