Volunteer-Mobilizing Organizations
Peace Through Action can help volunteer-mobilizing organizations equip volunteers with practical peace skills while creating new opportunities to strengthen their communities. We can support volunteer centers, civic hubs, service clubs, fraternal chapters, local United Ways, and corporate citizenship professionals as they engage people in meaningful service.
Here are ways we can help volunteer-mobilizing organizations:
Teach peace skills your volunteers can put into practice. Our Essential Peace Skills Trainings and Practical Peace Solutions Sessions prepare volunteers to communicate constructively, work through conflict, and strengthen relationships while serving others. We can also develop custom practical solutions sessions using situations your volunteers commonly encounter.
Create opportunities for community-wide impact. Organize a peace skills education or peace through action planning event that brings volunteers together to reach many community members on a single day.
Multiply your volunteers’ impact. Deploy volunteers to teach our peace skills workshops to small groups throughout the community, helping peace spread one conversation at a time.
We have designed our resources so volunteers can confidently lead workshops and activities with their peers and neighbors. Your staff and volunteer leaders can also use our materials as part of volunteer orientations, trainings, and community events.
We are able to provide our resources without charge (although we welcome contributions) if you choose to deliver our content to your members, volunteers, and communities yourselves. If you prefer Peace Through Action to deliver our content virtually or in-person, we can do that for a fee.
Here’s how to take the next step toward doing something with us:
- Write programs@peacethroughaction.org and we’ll share a preview of our content.
- Complete this Activity Interest Form and we will follow up.
Peace Through Action appreciates all that national service participants do to get things done for their communities and our country. We are grateful for the support AmeriCorps sponsors and sites provide their members, volunteers, and communities. We hope to contribute to their participants’ development and our communities’ social well-being. Let’s increase peace!
