Group Dialogue Training Activity Summary

Group dialogue is the process of engaging with others in a shared conversation where people are trying to think together, understand different perspectives, and move through disagreement in a more constructive way.

Group dialogue is useful in many everyday situations, such as:

When a community group is discussing a local issue that people see differently.
When a workplace team needs to talk through a tense or stuck conversation.
When a school, volunteer group, or neighborhood association is trying to hear multiple perspectives.
When a conversation has become dominated by a few voices, emotionally tense, or unclear in purpose.

Our Peace Accelerators

Peace Through Action USA welcomes any person with a desire for increased peace to become a peace accelerator. They choose to participate or make use of one or more of our peace accelerator activities. Our peace accelerators learn essential peace skills, practice how to apply those skills to typical challenges, and plan personal and group action to increase peace with and where they live, learn, work, play, and pray. Some of our peace accelerators volunteer their time to lead accelerator activities with their peers.

Peace Accelerators Activities

Peace Through Action USA’s peace accelerators activities include:

Practical Peace Solutions Lessons—brief scenario-based lessons to increase community members’ capacity to resolve “real life” conflicts and address both the causes and effects of social discord.
Essential Peace Skills Trainings—foundational trainings in nine essential peace practices to teach community members to skillfully apply peacebuilding techniques across a variety of social contexts.
Peace Through Action Meet-Ups—structured action planning and peacebuilding resources and services identification events to anchor peers in a shared commitment to peace in their relationships and places.
Peace Through Action Personal Adventures—structured action planning and peacebuilding resources and services activity for individuals to determine what they will do to increase peace in their relationships and places.
