About the Event:
Join us on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 7:00 – 8:30 pm ET for a free virtual event titled “Building Empathy Between Housed and Unhoused Neighbors.”
Housing status can shape daily life in ways that create misunderstanding, stigma, and distance between neighbors. This 90-minute conversation will explore how empathy can bridge those divides and foster stronger, more compassionate communities. Drawing on perspectives from people engaged in housing justice, community service, and lived experience, we will reflect together on what it means to be in relationship across housing divides.
Participants will:
• Gain a deeper understanding of the challenges unhoused neighbors face and the strengths they bring.
• Explore practical ways to reduce stigma and build bridges of empathy in their own communities.
• Take part in guided reflection and conversation to consider how we can create more connection and belonging across differences.
Whether you are housed, unhoused, a community advocate, or simply someone who cares about fostering compassion, this event offers a chance to listen, learn, and imagine more connected neighborhoods together.
