About the Event:
Join us on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 7:00 – 8:30 pm ET for a free virtual event titled “Noticing and Interrupting Prejudice in Everyday Life”
Prejudice often shows up in small, familiar moments through assumptions, generalizations, jokes, or comments that quietly diminish others’ dignity and humanity. These moments can feel subtle and uncomfortable, especially when they involve people we work with, care about, or regularly encounter.
During this 90-minute virtual session, participants will explore practical ways to notice when prejudice shows up and respond in ways that reduce harm and prevent escalation. Together, the group will examine common patterns that shape everyday conversations and practice simple, human responses that slow moments down, restore dignity, and re-center shared humanity.
The session will include guided reflection, interactive practice, and small-group conversation. Participants will work with realistic scenarios and develop language they can imagine using in their own lives. This time together focuses on building awareness, confidence, and steadiness during moments that matter.

Participants will:
- Recognize common patterns through which prejudice shows up in everyday situations.
- Practice using clarifying questions that interrupt assumptions and slow tense moments.
- Explore ways to re-center shared humanity when conversations reduce people to labels or stereotypes.
- Apply these approaches to realistic scenarios and reflect on how they might use them in their own relationships and communities.
Whether you navigate challenging conversations at work, in your community, or in personal relationships, this session offers space to strengthen practical skills and approach difficult moments with greater clarity, care, and confidence.
