About the Event:

Microaggressions may appear small, but their impact is harmful. These subtle, often unintentional slights can undermine trust, silence voices, and challenge mental health. Too often, they go unaddressed—not because people don’t care, but because we may lack the language or tools to respond.

This free virtual event from Peace Through Action USA will help participants understand the dynamics of microaggressions, explore strategies for responding with care and courage, and practice building cultures of dignity, safety, and belonging.

What You Will Gain Participants will explore:

  • Participants in this event:

    • Defined what microaggressions are and why they matter.

    • Explored four practical strategies: meta-communication, reframing, perspective-taking, and repair.

    • Examined how microaggressions target different identities, including race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, and religion.

    • Reflected on intersectionality and the layered experiences of marginalized communities.

    • Engaged in breakout discussions to apply strategies to real-world scenarios.

    • Left with concrete tools to interrupt everyday harms and foster inclusive spaces.
